SCIAMETALS

The homepage of SCIAmetals

Objective: Monitoring of metals species in the atmosphere, in particular the mesophere. Being excited mainly by sunlight metal atoms and ions (Fe, Mg, Na, Si,Cr,...) emit light at wavelengths in the UV/Vis. This emissions are retrieved from SCIAMACHY and GOME data and are used to obtain concentration profiles of metal species on a global scale.
Project duration: December 2003 to November 2006
Funding: European office of Aerospace Research and Developement (EOARD)
Team: Marco Scharringhausen, John P. Burrows, Miriam Sinnhuber
